ROSALIND SNEDDON
ROZ

1988 - 1995

In her youth Roz attained 2 degrees from the Conservatorium of Music.
She then became Music Teacher and Choir Mistress at St. Patricks College, Campbelltown.  Her and her husband came to the Central Coast in 1985.
Roz was a member with TLCS approximately 18mnths prior to becoming Musical Director.

South Pacific was performed at the Laycock Theatre on 24 Sept, 1989 plus extra items performed by Pat Blackwell and Daniel Dries.  The choir returned to the Laycock Theatre, once again, in Dec 89 with the Gosford City Orchestra conducted by Christopher Bowen to present a Christmas Concert.

Offering scholarships at schools to encourage younger members to join.  Although they initially recruited a couple of young girls they did not continue with the choir.

During Roz's time as Musical Director,  the Choral Society performed a lot of cantatas such as "Maunder's - Penitence Pardon Peace"; "Hallelujah - What a Saviour"; The Crucifixion"; Olivet to Calvary" and."The Passion of Christ".  In 1992 TLCS was invited to perform for The Salvation Army's "Papua New Guinea - Territorial Home League Project".

The Choral society performed "H.M.S. Pinafore" in Aug '93.  In Aug. '94 they performed "Merrie England" a comic opera with Pam Ross as Queen Elizabeth I; Pat Blackwell as Bessie Throckmorton; Alan Houghton as Sir Walter Raleigh and Paul Taylor as the Earl of Essex. "ENCORE" was performed Aug/Sept. 1995 which presented popular items from their last six years of concerts.

Much to the Societies disappointment Roz was returning to a family property at Tamworth and so advertisement for a new Musical Director took place in 1996.
